Gram Time Highlife Concert, 27th March, 2015 at GBC ZOY Gardens, Accra.

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has climaxed its month of heritage with food and clothing fair and music bazar.

At the ZOY Gardens at the forecourt of the Corporation, staff and members of the public were bombarded with fine African and Ghanaian music.

The month of March slated as the month of heritage to show cased Ghanaian culture and heritage.

To climax the month, which also forms part of the corporation’s 80th anniversary, GBC provided the platform to showcase the rich Ghanaian culture and music. GBC pacesetters and other renowned musicians entertained those present with good highlife music.

The Director General of GBC, Albert Don Chebe said 80 years is a year of reward and recognition and to demonstrate strength.

For his part, the Director of Radio Rolland Affail Monney said GBC will use whatever is Ghanaian as far as it will unite Ghanaian as people with one destiny.



Gram Time Highlife Concert, 3rd April, 2014 at CMB Club House, Accra.

The Gramophone Library of the GBC’s music department again organized a Highlife Concert dubbed ‘Gram Time Highlife Concert’ on the 3rd April, 2014 at the Ghana Cocoa Board Club House near TV3.

The event’s objective was to bring back good memories of Ghanaian Highlife music recorded in the 1940s through to the 70s and also to honour the original artistes as well as upcoming bands in Ghanaian Highlife vein. It attracted music lovers and dancers from all walks of life.

The performers included: Bob Pinodo (The Showmaster of Africa), The Dukes Band, Pat Thomas (Highlife legend) The Bigshots Band and the GBC’s Pace Setters Band.

The concert was supported by the Goethe Institut and the Essiebons Music Production.

Gram Time Highlife Concert, 22nd March, 2013 at CMB Club House, Accra.

The GBC Band featured in the celebration of Gram Time 3rd Anniversary Concert. In the pictures are some key members of the band in action on the night of the anniversary. Artists of the night were Papa Yankson, Dr Paa Bobo, The Dukes Dance Band and The Bigshots Band.

The anniversary was marked with contemporary Ghanaian music bringing back rich quality and danceable Ghanaian tunes dating back to the 60's and 70's. Revelers graced the occasion with very delectable dancing moves. The occasion was marked in red style. Invitation was thrown to some dance groups in the city of Accra.
