President Akufo-Addo inspects projects on second day of Volta region tour

The second day of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo's three-day working tour of the Volta Region has seen him inspecting on going projects in the Ho Municipality and the Adaklu District.

The projects include a 10 thousand seater multi purpose youth and sports development centre at Tsrefe in the Adaklu.

The two million-dollar projects forms part of government's efforts to provide the youth avenue to nurture their talents.

The President earlier met the chiefs and people of Adaklu where he gave the assurance of fulfilling their demand for fixing their deplorable major road networks, construction of district hospital and provision of potable water in the area.

The President later inspected works on lecture halls for the Pharmacy Department and laboratory complex at the permanent site of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS)at Sokode Lokoe in the Ho Municipality.

The Vice Chancellor of UHAS, Dr. Joseph Gyapong appealed to the President to support the University to overcome its infrastructural deficit as well as the internal roads and main road that leads to its permanent site.

Dr. Gyapong also appealed to the President to aid the University to complete its Cadiothorasic Centre.

He stressed that if the few challenges are addressed, UHAS can increase its admission from three thousand 500 to 10 thousand within a shortest possible time.

President Akufo-Addo urged management of UHAS to focus on their mandate of training quality health care professionals to defray the deficit in the country's health sector.

He pledged to expedite action to convert the Volta Regional Hospital into a fully fledged teaching hospital.
