E/R: Education Director debunks ‘receipt to proceed on leave’ allegations

The Eastern Regional Director of Education, Gertrude Mensah, has debunked allegations concerning the receipt of a letter from government asking her to proceed on leave following the recent issue of theft at the Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua, GHANASS.

She pointed out that, the Headmaster brought a report to her last Tuesday, November 28, concerning the issue that occurred in his school.

Madam Mensah who gave this information in an interview with Radio Ghana's Correspondent said she commenced with procedures to make the Matron, including her accomplice, appear before the disciplinary committee as soon as she received the report.

With regards to how some media outlets release information for public consumption, the Regional Director advised media practitioners to verify their facts before publication.

She said if such acts are not corrected, some people will be compelled to take legal action against such journalists.
