Two arrested for allegedly beheading 80-year old woman for rituals

The Volta Regional Police Command has arrested two persons who are alleged to have murdered and beheaded an 80-year-old woman at Labolabo a community near Anum in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

The two 36-year-old, Emmanuel Opoku a fetish priest and 36-year-old Eklu Havor, a Kente weaver are purported to have also removed the private parts of the decapitated body of the old woman.

Narrating the incidence to the media in Ho, the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nana Asomah Hineh disclosed that Emmanuel Opoku the fetish priest yesterday (November 28), reported to the Police at Kporvi Barrier near Dededo in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, that Eklu Havor has visited his shrine to sell the head of the old woman and her private parts to him for an amount of GH¢ 50,000.

The Police upon the tip-off, arrested Eklu at the shrine who upon interrogation admitted the crime.

The decapitated body of the old woman has since been deposited at the Volta Regional Hospital morgue for autopsy while the Police continue with their investigations.
