Dr. Ephraim Amu: Renowned musicologist book launched

A book looking at perspectives from the life and utterances of renowned musicologist Dr. Ephraim Amu, has been launched in Accra.

The book titled Patriotism and nation building was written by Professor Philip Laryea, Dean, Accredited studies at the Akrofi-Christaller Institute.

The first two copies of the book were bought by the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin and Sir Sam Jonah at GH¢5,000.00 [five thousand cedis] each.

Sir Sam Jonah who chaired the launch described Ephraim Amu as a Prophet, teacher, sage, philosopher and leader.

He noted that the lyrics of Dr. Ephraim Amu's song "Yen ara Y'asaase Ni" are even more profound and relevant in today's Ghana adding that Dr. Ephraim Amu was the corpus of the Ghanaians character.

Son of Dr. Ephraim Amu, Dr. Misonu Amu expressed gratitude to Professor Laryea for capturing the works of his father into a book for posterity.

He described the father as a legend who will forever be remembered.
