GWCL hopeful electronic billing and payment system will work

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), says it is hopeful that its electronic billing and payment system will work effectively.

The Company said it intends to phase out completely its paper bills by the end of this year.

Director of Communication of the Company, Stanley Martey, said the company piloted the system for many months and the short comings identified have been rectified.

By this system, customers will receive their bills via text messages and they can also pay by using mobile money and other electronic payment systems.

Mr. Martey said the system is already in four regions and will be extended to the other regions from next month.
