An Energy Expert, Kwame Jantuah, says it is not particularly where Liquefied Petroleum Gas or other fuel stations are sited that is a source of concern, but the non-enforcement of laws and regulations on safety.
Mr. Jantuah who said this on Radio Ghana's “Current Affairs Programme Focus,” which discussed Cabinet's directive on LPG cylinder re-circulation, noted that if all institutions mandated to oversee strict adherence to safety standards work effectively, problems with regard to explosions would be curtailed.
Contributing to the programme via telephone, a Research Analyst at the Institute of Energy, Richard Rockson, commended government for the directive.
He however raised some critical issues on safety and called for broader consultation on the problem at hand.
