The Youth of Wassa Akropong in the Western Region have gone on the rampage following the alleged killing of a local by a Chinese national.

A combined team of police, military and traditional leaders found it difficult to calm the youth who wanted to unleash violence on Chinese residents in the community.

Assets belonging to the Chinese were said to have been set ablaze by the irate youth.

A resident of the town, Matthew Mensah told GBC’s Radio Ghana that the deceased had gone to intervene in a misunderstanding between the Chinese and some other locals when he met his untimely death.
