Head coach of the Mali Senior National team, Alain Giresse has resigned, after his side drew goalless with Morocco in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

“It has become complicated for me. There are times when you must know how to stop”, the 65-years old told CAF’s website, in an interview.

Alain Giresse managed a single victory in his last seven games as coach of Mali, by beating The Gambia 2-1 in the qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Football Federation is expected to take a decision on the next line of action ahead of the remaining matches of the qualifiers.
