Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II To Visit Ghana In November

The Head of State of Denmark, Queen Margrethe will be in the country for a two day state visit on the 23rd to 24th of November.

The visit is by the invitation of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will emphasize and consolidate the long standing and well established relations between Ghana and Denmark and at the same time marking the gradual transition from aide to trade.

A statement from the Embassy of Denmark noted that a delegation of Danish companies and business organization will be accompanying the Queen in order to strengthen the political and commercial relations between the two countries.

Denmark through the DANIDA development Corporation has played an important role in developing the country’s key sectors and institutions.

With Ghana graduating from a lower to middle income country and the prospect of a sustainable economic growth, Denmark is gradually transitioning from development cooperation to trade cooperation in line with the vision of the government of Ghana.

The statement noted that during the visit, the Danish Queen will address business conference on the theme “an Emerging Market within Reach”.

The focus will be the areas of Food and Agriculture, sustainability and Maritime, infrastructure and Railway where Denmark has strengths to offer the growing demands in Ghana.

She will be officially received by President Akufo-Addo at the presidency.
