President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians to jealously guard the constitution of the country.

Speaking at the launch of NCCE’s Inter schools debate competition, President Akufo-Addo asked the nation not to lose sight of Ghana's history adding that Ghanaians need to know and understand the laws governing the country.

The maiden edition of the inter university debate seeks to promote good citizenship among the youth using the electronic quiz competition.

It’s also part of the commission's activities for Ghana’s independence celebration.

To participate in the competition, students are expected to learn the contents of the 1992 constitution.

Through this play and learn format, participants are expected to be empowered to become Ambassadors of Rule of law.

President Akufo-Addo asked the NCCE not to be an appendage of any political party.

He expressed firm believe in the body to discharge its constitutional mandate.
