The Minister of Roads and Highways Kwasi Amoako-Atta has cautioned the owners of excavators not to use road reservations for parking in doing their business. He said it is wrong as it hinders other road users and poses danger to other motorists.
Mr. Amoako-Atta expressed the concern when he inspected construction works around the Tema Motorway Roundabout. He said it is a worrisome situation to find a private hiring firm parking about 50 excavators around the area leading to obstruction of works.
There was a heated exchange between the owners of the excavators and the Minister’s team leading to the arrest of three people. They were sent to the East Legon Police Station.
The CEO of Meridian Port Services, the organisation that is funding the project gave the assurance that the construction works around the Motorway Roundabout will be completed by 31st August and handed over to government.
