Sanitation policy being established to make Ghana cleanest in Africa – Minister

The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Joseph Adda, says to speed up the process of making Ghana the cleanest country in Africa, a Sanitation Authority and the National Sanitation Brigade are being established.
Speaking at the Meet-the-Press Series in Accra, Mr. Adda said a draft policy has been completed towards achieving this goal.
He reiterated the need for attitudinal change to ensure the success of government's efforts towards improving sanitation.
He said funding has been sought for the implementation of the Greater Accra Sustainable Sanitation and livelihood Improvement Project.
Mr. Adda added that further engagements are ongoing with investors to convert waste into energy and compost.
Mr. Adda also indicated that new projects will soon be undertaken to improve water supply in Ghana especially in rural areas.
