A report by SEND Ghana, an NGO indicates that more than GH¢61.8 million allocated between 2009 and 2016 for the Free School Uniform Programme, could not be fully accounted for.
The report also cited the politicisation of the programme which does not allow for equitable disbursement.
The report presented by Senior Programmes Officer of SEND Ghana, Harriet Nuamah Agyemah, also cited irregularities from the disbursement process, supervision and the criteria for the selection of schools.
