The Ghana Education Service says the decision taken on the 209 candidates who could not write the BECE on the first day in Bunkpurugu is final.

PRO of the Service, Rev. Jonathan Bettey says the candidates will have to wait till next year January to take the missed papers, which means they will not be able to enter Senior High School this year.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Rev. Bettey says, the inability of the candidates to take the papers on the first day was through no fault of the GES or WAEC, hence the candidates must bear the full consequences.

On the allegation that some invigilators are taking money from candidates in order to allow them to cheat in the examinations, Rev. Bettey says that is a matter for the security personnel detailed to the centres to handle.
