Sachet water could pose threat to humans if not handled well – Research

Director of the Water Research Institute, Dr. Osmond Ansah-Asare, says research has shown that if sachet water is not handled well, bacteria and other organism are introduced into it and these poses a health threat to the human being.

He told GBC’s George Ankrah that the regulators such as Ghana Standards Authority and the Food and Drugs Authority must intensify their monitoring services to avoid any health implications on human life.

Dr. Ansah-Asare explains the testing process and advised vendors to handle the product well.

Dr. Ansah-Asare gave further advise on what consumers should do to maintain standards.
