Government has sourced a thirty million dollar fund to connect the Yendi Municipality to the Oti river.

This will enable residents of Yendi and its environs to have water all year round. Water crisis has been part of Yendi for so many years.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made this known when he paid a courtesy call on the Regent of the Gbewaa Palace.

The Vice President is in the Northern Region on a three day thank you tour.

He will also outline government's agenda on how to improve the economy for especially those from that region.

Dr. Bawumia said the water situation in the area was a peculiar challenge which the Akufo-Addo administration intends to resolve anytime soon.

He noted that government had reduced the price of fertiliser to ensure affordability for farmers in order to increase yield.

He also re-echoed that the free Senior High School policy would be implemented in the next academic year beginning September 2017.
