Malaria Cases Reduce Considerably

Cases of malaria in Ghana have reduced by seventy percent. Malaria deaths have also reduced from more than six thousand annually to one thousand 200.
By this figure malaria is no more the leading cause of death in health facilities as it now accounts for 4.4 percent of deaths recorded as against 20 percent in 2000.
These were revealed at this year's commemoration of World Malaria Day and launch of the Ghana Malaria Foundation.
The Program Manager of the National Malaria Control Program, Dr. Constance Bart-Plange reiterated that under five deaths have also reduced considerably.
