The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah says the influx and springing up of businesses and in particular financial institutions in Ghana within the last few years is unprecedented in the country’s economic history. The phenomenon he said testifies to the fact that there is enough money in the system as well as vibrancy of the economy as a result of efficient and effective management by the government.

Mr. Owusu Ansah said this in an address read for him at the opening of two branches of the CAL Bank in Kumasi.  According to the Regional Minister, the country now enjoys good governance, rule of law, freedom of expression as well as consistent good fiscal policy with economic stability which he noted is unparalleled in West Africa.

This has positioned Ghana as the safest destination for direct foreign investment especially in the area of banking.  Mr. Owusu Ansah said it is therefore not surprising that Ghana is emerging as the economic nerve centre for which serious minded business entities cannot overlook in their investment drive.

The Akyempemhene, Oheneba Adusei Poku explained that the springing up of financial and other business institutions in the Kumasi Metropolis gives credence to the commercial vibrancy of the city in view of its strategic geographical location.
