The Chronicle takes a swipe at commercial drivers who are refusing to reduce fares even though they have been directed to do so to reflect the reduction in petrol prices by the National Petroleum Authority.  The paper suggests that government adopts stringent measures by going to court to compel drivers to charge the relevant fares.  The Chronicle says it is wrong for government to sit down for drivers to enrich themselves whilst the ordinary man whose taxes are used to import crude oil wallow in abject poverty.

The Accra Daily Mail is worried over recent power outages in the country.  To the paper, this is unacceptable especially with about ten days to the general elections.  The paper sympathises with the public who are complaining about the negative economic, social and domestic problems they are facing due to interruptions in power supply.

The Ghanaian Times reiterates its call to Ghanaians to ensure peace come December 7.  The paper urges political leaders and supporters to halt making references to Kenya, saying Ghana must not dare hope  she can go the Kenyan way and survive. The Times says Ghanaians are not more peace-loving than any group of people on earth, and this position must be mentioned.

The Crusading Guide expresses concern about political parties who still have problems with the Electoral Commission with just a few days to the elections.  The paper says with the kind of political tension that has engulfed the nation, any reckless attempt by self-seeking political parties to badmouth the EC will spell doom for the country.  The paper calls on all political parties to avoid unnecessary verbal attacks on the EC.
