Elections taskforce to conduct simulation exercises
The National Elections Security Task Force says it will conduct special simulation exercises and training programmes throughout the country on Sunday, 16 and Monday 17, November.  A statement signed by the National Security Co-ordinator, Dr. Sam Amoo says the programme codenamed ‘Exercise Peace Angel’ is to test the preparedness and capability of the security agencies for the forthcoming elections.

The public may therefore see uniformed members of the security services conducting scenarios as part of the training programme.  It is also to synchronize and rehearse operational plans and procedures, in a bid to more effectively integrate functions of groups, task forces and agencies.

The Task Force is therefore soliciting the support and co-operation of the public in this exercise, which will also be subsequently replicated in the regions and districts.  The statement assures the public that all this is part of the resolve to ensure a peaceful election, by creating a congenial atmosphere for voters to exercise their right to vote.
