NGOs cautions children not to support violence
The Ghana NGOs Coalition on the Rights of the Child (GNCRC) has added its voice to calls for a peaceful atmosphere during the December elections.  In a statement the coalition noted that Ghanaian children deserve to learn from good examples that could impact on them to be responsible adults.  It also cautioned children not to support parties that promote violence.

The statement further emphasized the need for all political parties to protect children from any form of violence which could expose them to physical or psychological harm.  The Ghana NGO coalition on the Rights of the child was established in 1996, taking its mandate from the UN Convention on the Rights of the child.  It is an umbrella organization of all child-focused NGOs in the country.
