President Kufuor underscore teachers role in education  
President John Agyekum Kufuor has re-emphasised the central role of teachers in education which he described as the major factor in the country’s, social economic development.  He said it is in recognition of this that government is undertaking various programmes to build the capacity of the teachers.

This was contained in a speech read on his behalf at a durbar to climax the centenary celebration of the St Frances Training College at Hohoe in the Volta Region.  

The occasion was also used to unveil the busts of the last White Principal, Michael Coleman and the first Black Principal, P. K. Akoto-Ampaw.
