Adina became the  winner of season three edition of the Stars of the Future reality show, after two enthralling rounds of rendition at the grand finale at the National Theater in Accra. Adina drove home a brand new Dacia Logan from CFAO Motors in addition to a year’s recording contract. Anita who placed second took home GHC800. The programme was beamed live on GTV. The third and fourth positions went to Daniel and Ike, who took home GHC400 each as well as souvenirs from sponsors.

All the evictees also received GHC200 each as well as souvenirs from sponsors. The event kicked off at about 9:30pm with a curtain raiser gig from Ghana’s Lil’ Wayne, Edem, after an introduction by MC Chris Attoh.

Daniel who set the ball rolling performed Paul Simmons’ ‘Diamond’. He did his best, but not to the satisfaction of the judges. Anita, however, changed the atmosphere when she performed Alicia Keys’ ‘No One’. Besides her dancing skills and stagecraft, she charmed the audience with her silky voice.

Ike strut it out with the performance of Freddie Meiway’s ‘Nana’ which impressed everybody including the judges. Adina did not falter as she stepped up the game with Rihana’s ‘Umbrella’.

From the beginning there were hitches, with her voice disrupting the smooth flow of the song, but she managed to pull through. It was as though the audience had already endorsed her as the crowd cheered, danced and sang alongside her performance.

After the first round it became obvious the guys were nowhere near the ladies. During the second, each of them performed their own songs. It was there that Adina’s ‘Home’ catapulted her and placed her points ahead of Anita, though the latter was also very good.

The night wouldn’t have been complete without performances from Becca, Tinny, Asem and last year’s winner of the event, Justice. Becca was extraordinary just as Tinny, and within 10 minutes Tinny had performed almost all his hit tracks. With D.J. Mensah on the turntable, the audience had no option but to dance their hearts out.

But that was just the tip of the iceberg as there was more fun in store. Asem dropped his “A-S-E-M” and the whole crowd went gay. Indeed, it was a night of more fire as a reggae man would put it, as Samini also made an appearance.
