Dr. Nduom on BECE results
Dr. Nduom on BECE results
CPP presidential candidate, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, has criticized the various interventions into the country’s educational systems by previous and the present governments.  He said interactions with employers revealed that the quality of people produced by the current educational system does not meet industrial standard and are often retrained on basic elements that should have been taught in school.   Dr.Nduom said this at a news conference to react to the general performance of students in this year’s BECE results.

He said many students cannot read, write or express themselves well in English and the same difficulty exists in the area of science and technology.   The Free Compulsory Basic Education by both the NDC and NPP has not been well  implemented.  He promised a free compulsory and continuous education from kindergarten to Senior High School.  Dr. Nduom said a CPP government will put quality education high on the agenda to enable the country to meet the demands of the global economy.  Public schools throughout the country, he said will be equipped through proceeds from the GETFUND and other national revenue.   Mr. Nduom acknowledged the importance of teachers saying the party will assist teachers to own houses.
