"He's very exciting," he told the club's official site. "Not only is he quick but he also has a wee trick or two."

Despite the manager’s positive reviews, the much travelled player, - having played in Amsterdam for Ajax, London with Arsenal, Moscow as a Dynamo player and in Vigo with Celta Vigo - Quincy Owusu-Abeyie says there’s more to come.

"I enjoyed it in Moscow and I played in the Champions League and Spain was good too, but when I heard that Birmingham was interested, it was the right way to go," said Owusu-Abeyie who joined the Blues this season.

"We are looking strong and there is more to come," he added.

"We have to stay strong mentally. That is the key. At the moment we are top, but we are only getting started. We can get better and better."
