The new IBF Welterweight Champion, Joshua Clottey has presented his title belt to President Kufuor at the Castle.  He told the President his tenure has  brought a lot of honours to the country and promised to work even harder to bring more laurels back home.  The Chairman of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Moses Foh Amoaning hoped the nation would devote more attention to boxing though football appears to be the passion of many people.

He stressed the need for the creation of a gymnasium for the sport.  President Kufuor thanked Joshua Clottey for the honour done the nation.  He urged the IBF Champion to serve as a role model to the youth, especially around Bukom, in Accra .  The President said Joshua Clottey must not allow himself to be drawn into questionable associations.  As to his remuneration, President Kufuor said the nation cannot do much in monetary terms but will certainly recognize Joshua Clottey’s achievements even as he aspires to win more bouts.
