The Daily Graphic says those involve in the debate on GT-Vodafone deal should critically examine the merits and demerits of the deal and decide what is best for the country.The paper notes that there is no doubt that the proposed sale of GT shares to Vodafone has generated intense debate and as pointed out by President Kufuor, a lot of arguments made against the deal were because inadequate information on the issue.The Graphic urges Members of Parliament to place the interest of the nation first and speak to the facts and issues, as parliament debates the issue today.
The Ghanaian Times, comments on its front page story where three thousand school desks have been left to rot away at Amasaman in the Ga West District, as Education Officers, seem not to know which educational institution the furniture is meant for.The paper, suggests to the Ghana Education Service to immediately investigate the issue and find out which schools they were meant for, who ordered them and who was supposed to see to it that they were distributed. The Times, says if the desk are surpluses, then they should immediately be sent to schools that need them.
The Chronicle commends the former Western Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, George Asiamah for cautioning new police recruits in Koforidua not to see the service as a goldmine.The paper says it is an undeniable Fact that people are eager to join the Police Service because of the perception that it is easy for one to make money in the service.
