The Minister of Women and Children Affairs, Hajia Alima Mahama, has asked Ghanaians to retain the NPP in power since it has proved to have the welfare of the poor at heart. Hajia Alima Mahama who is also the MP for Nalerigu was speaking at the Second Annual General Meeting of the Gambaga District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme.
She pointed out that the NPP government has demonstrated a consistent concern for Ghanaians through pragmatic policies and programmes including the National Health Insurance Scheme, Capitation Grant, School Feeding Programme, Micro Credit Schemes that have brought about the re-distribution of wealth and poverty reduction.
She said government will continue to support and strengthen the gains of the NHIS through the provision of logistics to help the schemes to function more effectively and efficiently. Hajia Alima said that through her MP’s Common Fund, she has registered 2,565 vulnerable people with the NHIS and would continue to register more of the vulnerable.
