Central region to get rubber farm
The Ghana Rubber Estate Limited plans to establish a five thousand hectare rubber plantation in the Central Region to help create employment. The Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur, announced this at the Meet the Press Series for the Central Regional coordinating Council in Cape Coast. He said the company is conducting soil and other technical analysis to confirm the suitability of the area for the cultivation of rubber.

Nana Ato Arthur said the Central Regional Development Commission (CEDECOM) is involved in facilitating the process. The Rubber tree, he said is an industrial crop and massive cultivation of it can generate sustainable employment and alleviate poverty. Nana Ato Arthur pointed out that a number of interventions are being instituted to enhance the region’s wealth to attract more investors.
