Ghana's 27-year-old midfielder and captain, Stephen Appiah, has been a free agent since the summer when he had his contract with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe torn up. Prior to that, the former Juventus star had spent more than nine months on the sidelines with a career-threatening injury, and he now admits that he is fed up with life outside the pitch.

Appiah came close to a Premier League switch over the summer, with a clutch of teams reportedly vying for his signature.nterest was also lodged from Serie A and the Bundesliga, but Appiah is still clubless. However, the Ghana skipper is optimistic of resolving his future soon, as he targets an imminent comeback to the game.

He said I am getting tired of not playing now,I train regularly with Brescia in Italy and have stayed in top physical shape but it is never the same as having a club, playing every week and doing what you love.Ghana face Tunisia in Accra tonight in an all-African friendly, and Appiah is hoping to showcase his talent and experience in front of a swathe of European scouts.

Without Sulley Ali Muntari and Michael Essien, the Black Stars will look to their general in midfield to guide them through the fixture.Appiah continued If they  are watching, then that will motivate me rather than put me under pressure. But I will play my normal game and help the team.

He went on to suggest that securing a move to a new club was close. Appiah concluded,I have always said while I have not signed a contract, there is nothing but there is interest from England, Italy and Spain.I know definitely that it will not be long before I am back at a club.
