Political parties get vehicles  
Fifty cross-country pick-up vehicles have been released for distribution to political parties which have 10 or more parliamentary candidates in the December elections. The vehicles will be distributed on the basis of the number of candidates fielded for the parliamentary election with each party qualifying for one vehicle if it fields more than 10 candidates.

The Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan who announced this in Accra at the opening of a forum for parliamentary candidates said the gesture is to assist in the elections.

He announced that the New Patriotic Party, NPP and National Democratic Congress, NDC will each be allocated 12 vehicles, the Convention Peoples Party, CPP 10 vehicles, Peoples Nationalc Convention, PNC 7, Democratic Freedom Party, DFP 6, Democratic Peoples Party, DPP 2 while the Reform Popular Democratic, RPD gets one.

Dr. Afari-Gyan said copies of the voter register are ready for collection by political parties adding that each party would be given ten copies.
