The Minority Leader and MP for Nadowli West, Alban Bagbin, has stressed the need for politicians to educate the people on what politics and democracy are about so they can better understand issues of governance. Mr. Bagbin was speaking at a rally organised by a group known as the Progressive Friends of Bagbin, PROFAB, at Nadowli in the Upper West Region. The Minority Leader explained that politics is about issues, values and competition and not personalities, lies or intimidation.
Mr. Bagbin threw a challenge to his opponents in the constituency to engage him on what he has done and his vision for the people. He noted that the electorate in his constituency have benefited a lot under his leadership and should not make the mistake of voting for any other person to retard the progress of the constituency in particular and the Upper West Region in general.
The Minority Leader said Ghanaians have now seen the difference between the NDC and the NPP and are yearning to bring the NDC back to power next year. The President of the Progressive Friends of Bagbin, Augustine Zinenuba, said the decision to form PROFAB is to whip up interest and enthusiasm in the activities of the NDC in the constituency to ensure victory in the December election.
The Second Vice Regional Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Ishak Natonaa, said Ghanaians now feel more insecure than before because armed robbery is on the increase. He therefore called on Ghanaians to vote for the NDC so that they can enjoy effective security.
