Conference on climate change in W/A begins

An Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) meeting to discuss regional strategies and action plans aimed at reducing vulnerability to climate change in West Africa is taking place in Accra. 

Speaking at the opening session the Deputy Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, indicated that climate change is the most threatening developmental issue which demands urgent global response. 

He announced that Ghana is preparing her national climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies as part of the national climate change policy development.
