Swine flu in West Africa  

Reports indicate that two cases of the H1N1 virus otherwise called Swine-flu have been diagnosed in Cote d’Ivoire, the first in West Africa. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Head of Micro Biology of the Veterinary Service,  Dr.  Bashiru Kikimote  gave the  assurance that some  pragmatic steps are being  taken  by the  Ministry of Agriculture to  ensure  the  safety of  Ghanaians.     

He  was  optimistic that if  everyone  complies with  earlier  measures  put  in place when the  H1N1 virus  was reported,  the  country will not  have  problems.  He spoke to Georgette Cole.
