Ghanaians urged to participate in sports  
The Volta Regional Minister, Joseph Amenowode has identified sporting activities in the country as a means of generating income and an avenue promoting for the health of the individual.  He therefore encouraged Ghanaians to fully participate in sporting activities adding that many individuals have attained success in life through sports.
 
Mr. Amenowode was speaking at the on-going 36th Volta Regional Schools Annual Inter-Zonal Sports Festival at Kpando.  He appealed to tertiary institutions to reserve special admission quota for athletes. This, he explained will enable them to be part of the academic trend while pursuing their sporting interests. 

Mr. Amenowode said government will make sure that all sport desciplines received equal attention. The District Chief Executive for Kpando, Francis Ganyaglo, said sports development will help solve some problems confronting the youth like indiscipline, drug abuse and immorality because sportsmanship comes with self discipline and endurance. 

He warned the students against indulging in cyber fraud popularly known as “Sakawa” and all forms of indiscipline.
