Church prays for peaceful elections
The West Mamprusi District Chief Executive, Nabila Sulemana has said, that even though some people seem to paint a gloomy picture for the forth coming elections, he is convinced that all shall be well during the elections in the country.  Mr. Sulemana was speaking at the climax of a four day prayer session for peaceful elections organized by the El-Shaddai Love International Ministry at Walewale in the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region.

For some time some incidents in the Ghanaian political scene seem to suggest it shall not be well with the country during the elections.  This therefore necessitated the religious groups to intensify their prayers for the nation and for peaceful elections.

Parliamentary candidates in West Mamprusi who took part in the prayer session each had a word of advice for the people.  The incumbent NDC Member of Parliament, Alidu Zakariya said politics is about ideas and campaigning is about how to convince others to ones’ side.  He said there is therefore no reason why people should be at each others throats.

Mr. Zakariya said the past four years have given him a lot of experience and he would perform better if given a second chance.  The General Overseer of the church Rev. Jonathan Sambayon said prayers can move mountains and urged the members to keep praying until their desires are met.
