The Office of the National Chief Imam says it recognizes the Interim Hajj Management Committee as the Council that has the responsibility to organize the Pilgrimage.  It says the Committee will be dissolved immediately after the Hajj.  The Acting National Secretary at the Chief Imam’s office, Alhaji Osman Mohammed who refused to say anything concerning the role of the National Hajj Council said the office of the Chief Imam cannot stop anyone from organizing the Holy Pilgrimage.

Alhaji Osman Mohammed urged the Moslem community to remain united whilst a permanent solution is found to the organization of Hajj.

Meanwhile, the National Hajj Council still insists that it is the only body that has the responsibility to organize the Hajj.

The Chairman of the Council, Sheikh Mohammed Kamil Mohammed, announced that the Council has already started instituting the necessary arrangements for the Hajj.

He said the Council does not recognize the Interim Hajj Management Council and blames it for the problems associated with last year’s Hajj.
