A number of people are reported dead and several others injured in a fatal accident on the Kasoa road on Sunday. The driver of a benz bus is reported to have run into a number of street hawkers killing 17 people on the spot. Eye witnesses say, the initial accident resulted in a pile up. There are fears that the death toll could rise, considering the degree of the injuries sustained.
Some of the injured, he said have been rushed to the Kasoa Health Centre and neigbouring health centres for treatment. According to Abdul Rahman some of the injured have been moved to other hospitals in Accra. The dead have been deposited at the Korle Bu teching hospital for autopsy.
