Vehicle tracking system to resolve fuel constraints
The Brong Ahafo Regional Traffic Manager of the Metro Mass Transit, Fiifi Hanson has expressed the hope that the Vehicle Tracking system introduced by the organisation to resolve fuel constraints will achieve its desired results of lessening the cost burden on passengers.  The Tracking System which is being piloted is expected to be fully operational on all Metro Mass buses when the trials are successfully concluded.

The Vehicle Tracking System monitors the operations and speed range of Metro Mass buses on various approved routes with a view to ensuring that his outfit for the month of July recorded an increase in revenue generation earning about 2 thousand 600 Ghana Cedis.  He expressed the hope of exceeding the target of 3 thousand Ghana Cedis set for this month and the rest of the year.

He hinted that revenue leakage through the activities of conductors is one of their major problems but noted that some stringent measures have been employed to check it.  He mentioned what is termed mystery passengers who observe conductors, and surprise checks by inspectors as some of these mechanisms.
