The Late Rev. Fr. John Boateng Prempeh remembered

A special thanksgiving service has been held at Saltpond in the Central Region to commemorate the life work and ministry of the late Rev Father John Boateng Prempeh Son of King Prempeh the first  and the first Parish Priest of the Saltpond Anglican parish. The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, was represented by a retired Anglican Bishop of Kumasi Rt. Rev Edmund Kojo Yeboah, the suffragan Bishop elect, Rev Dawson-Amoah and two children of the late Rev Father and relatives.

In his sermon, Rev. Ven Dawson-Amoah noted that, it is important that, people who serve the lord to their death be remembered.

According to him God does not bless those who have no remembrance, so he urged his disciples to do certain things to remember him. He appealed to the congregation to consider what they can also do to help the church of God.

The Priest in charge of the Saint Peter and Paul Parish Very Rev Emmanuel Entsi Williams noted that, the remembrance service is to let people know the work late father  Prempeh as a pioneer founding father of the church.

According to very Rev. Williams it is also to encourage others to appreciate that it is worth working and dying for the cause of God.

A tribute, described Rev Father John Boateng Prempeh as a pioneer, promoter of education in the area, a visionary and dedicated priest. He died 66 years ago. A plaque was also unveiled in his honour and memory.
