As part of activities marking its 34th anniversary, the Association of Methodist Church Choirs, Accra Diocese has held an executive retreat for all its circuit and society officers. The retreat which took places at the Macedonia Methodist Church, Kwashieman, was officiated by the Bishop of the Accra Diocese, Rev. Abraham Tagoe.
In a welcome address, the Diocesan Chairman, Paul Laryea reminded the officers of the need to work harder to uplift the image of the church. He announced plans to make all Circuit Church Choir Councils in the diocese functional adding that most of the dormant choirs councils have been revived. Mr. Laryea regretted the poor level of information flow within the circuit councils and expressed the need for officers who attend council meetings to let their member know what transpired.
He recommended to every chorister to obtain a copy of the bible and hymn books to guide them in life. Mr. Laryea commended the Diocesan Secretary Charity Gala for her commitment to duty and urged all members to emulate her. He announced that the Diocese placed second to Kumasi in the maiden singing competition held in Kumasi.
