The Daily Graphic welcomes an admonition by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council to the public to feel free to sue doctors for compensation for wrong diagnosis or other unprofessional conducts. The paper says in the past, there had been live cries over professional misconduct and victims were most often than not compelled to let matters rest in the spirit of the typical Ghanaian attitude of “Fama Nyame”. To the Graphic, the directive is a testimony of the commitment of the council to ensure high professional standards.
The Ghanaian Times criticizes a statement by a senior Police Officer to newly recruits at the Police College, that there is nothing like warning shots in the dictionary of the service. The paper says, if this is so, then the Police administration owe the nation an explanation for keeping mute all these years when gun-wielding police officers shot and killed innocent civilians in the name of warning shots. To the paper, the gun-battle on the streets is not the reason why the Police Service was founded.
