A National Prayer Conference was organized in Accra to mark Africa Union Day.  It was the fifth time, Mission Africa Incorporated and the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation organized the event.

Speaking on the political situation in Africa, the Kamenahene of Akwamu, Nana Opamago Osae Nyampong observed that some political leaders have resorted to the pursuit of their selfish needs at the expense of the majority.  He called on leaders to display honesty and sincerity in the discharge of their duties.
