Deputy Eastern Regional Minister and MP for Kade, Ofosu Asamoah has been retained as the Parliamentary Candidate at the Primaries at Kade in the Kwaebibirem District. He polled 72 out of the 107 votes cast to beat three other contestants. Mr. Ofosu Asamoah called on the party faithful to vote massively for him and the NPP government in the up-coming elections. The defeated contestants pledged their support for the MP and promised to work together with him for the development of the area.
At Akwatia, the incumbent MP Kingsley Kissi stepped down for personal reasons making way for Dr. Kofi Asare who polled 64 votes out of the 100 votes cast to beat his opponent Philip Owusu-Ankomah who had 33 votes.
At the Lower West Akyem constituency primaries, the incumbent MP, James Appietu Ankrah lost to his opponent Gifty Klenam. Of the total 86 votes, she had 63 while Mr. Apietu Ankrah had 23. Madam Klenam pleaded for the support and co-operation of members of the party towards the upliftment of the area.
