The Presidential Candidate of the CPP, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has met identifiable groups in the Kumasi Metropolis to spell out the socio-economic development policies of the party. The meeting formed part of his campaign tour of the region. Dr. Nduom stressed that a government under CPP will not only repeal the law that enforces the appointment of majority of Ministers of State from Parliament, but also separates the Ministry of Justice from the Attorney-Generals Department to promote Justice and Transparency in government.
The issue of election of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives will also be settled once and for all, to make public office holders truly accountable and directly responsible to the people. Dr. Nduom said Ghana has suffered from mediocrity and inferiority complex for far too long. He said the potential and capacity of local entrepreneurs, particularly the Kristo Asafo Church and the Suame Light Industrial area in Kumasi would be adequately and effectively handled under his government. The focus would be to create the requisite environment for them not only to assemble automobiles, but also invent and build made-in-Ghana machines.
On the under-development of the three regions in the north, Dr. Nduom mentioned a holistic management of the tourism sector, especially, the Mole National Park, with airstrips among other facilities to generate enough revenue to develop the areas. He urged the electorate to vote for the CPP to change their living standards for the better.
