The Ghanaian Times welcomes the move by China to share its agricultural and technological expertise with Ghana as part of its bilateral commitment to the nation. The paper says the move comes at the right time when there are calls for mechanisation of farming in Ghana. The Times cannot understand that, 54 years after independence, farmers still use rudimentary tools such as hoes and cutlasses but are still required to produce enough to feed the nation and for export. It is in this vein that the paper hopes Ghana would tap the rich experience of China, which is able to produce enough to feed its over 1.3 billion population.

The Daily Graphic writes on the need for media practitioners to uphold high standards and adhere to the code of ethics of the profession. This comes in the wake of the debate over the effect of the repeal of the criminal libel law 10 years ago. To the paper, the repeal is both sweet and bad, because people who feel maligned can resort to rejoinders, seek redress from the National Media Commission (NMC) or file civil suits at the court. But the Graphic also believes the repeal has given journalists the urge to throw about their tantrums by discarding decorum and ethics with impunity. This, the paper believes is unfortunate, since the media have a major role to play in the country's quest for an improved democracy.
