The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, has expressed confidence in President John Mahama to deliver. He has also stated his intention to support and fully participate in giving President Mills a befitting burial.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu's message was delivered to President Mahama at the Castle when the Asanteman Council led by Daasebre Osei Bonsu called on him.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu extended the Asantehene's sympathy and congratulations to President Mahama. He described the late President as a man with astute leadership qualities.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu also expressed shock at the death of President Mills, considering the fact that, he had met with him on the Sunday before his death.

President Mahama, acknowledged the good relations Otumfuo Osei Tutu had with President Mills. He said it is unfortunate that the President was spoken ill of by many while alive.

The President however hoped that his death will serve as a call for unity.
