President Mahama Holds First Cabinet Meeting
President Mahama on his way to the meeting
President John Dramani Mahama has held his first cabinet meeting at the Castle, Osu. He arrived at the Castle around 11.15 this morning.

Party executives and some officials at the Castle had already converged before President Mahama arrived.

Officials were tight lipped about the issues to be discussed at the cabinet meeting but it is expected that the subject concerning a running mate and other pertinent party issues will come up.

Before the meeting, President Mahama, led a prayer and a minute silence for the repose of the soul of Professor John Evans Atta Mills.

In the prayer, the President said sometimes there are opportunities in adversities. It is hoped that the death of President Mills will present the party and the country as a whole with good tidings to enable his vision, the Better Ghana Agenda, to be continued.

Meanwhile, the National Organiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan says today's Cabinet meeting was filled with tears.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan said he could not continue to sit in the meeting.

He said a Committee is being set up to oversee the state funeral and burial for President Mills.

Mr Boateng Gyan said world leaders have expressed interest in attending the President’s funeral.

He said a delegation will be visiting the first lady, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills.
