Bawku NHIS embark on special registration exercise
The Bawku Mutual Health Insurance Scheme is embarking on a week long special registration exercise in 20 communities in the Bawku Municipality.

The exercise is to get the registration to the door step of clients and potential ones to make health care more accessible. The scheme hopes to register about one thousand clients during the exercise.

The Public Relations Officer of the Scheme, Asaana Salifu-Moro, said the exercise is also to educate clients not to allow their insurance cards to expire for more than three months as it creates problems for the Scheme.

He said a penalty would be imposed on clients whose cards expire beyond three months.

Mr. Salifu- Moro advised pregnant women to register with the Scheme but desist from double registration as they are being registered for free.

He explained that women who subscribe to the Scheme before becoming pregnant should not register again but draw the attention of the Scheme to their new condition.
